Borehole Seismology

Vertical Seismic Profiling provides a highly accurate surface image since the recording sensor can be positioned very close to the target reflectors. This allows unequivocal calibration and validation of subsurface reflection imagery. Additionally it facilitates Q determination, fracture characterisation, and wavelet analysis. Velseis provides single-component and 3-component VSP recording and processing, typically integrated into a surface reflection program.

Velseis staff also have expertise in the acquisition and inversion of Borehole Seismic Tomography aimed at high-resolution definition of mineral and hydrocarbon deposits.
